I grew up in Minnedosa, Manitoba - a small town of 3,000 people nestled in the Minnedosa Valley.  There was a winding river and a beautiful lake hidden in our treed glen.  The winters were long and cold and springtime extremely welcome when it finally came.  This song always reminds me of southern Manitoba's delightfully hot and sultry summer days.
